Who We Are
Tina and Suzan have over 27 years combined experience and training in using EFT/Tapping both personally and professionally.
Suzan K. Thompson, Ph.D., LPC
Dr. Suzan Thompson is a licensed professional counselor, consultant and facilitator. She earned a doctorate in counselor education from the University of Virginia and has worked in a variety of counseling positions, including serving as Clinical Coordinator for the Graduate Counseling Program at Old Dominion University for 9 years. Dr. Thompson currently maintains a full schedule in her private practice and offers classes to professional counselors and clinical supervisors. She has a special interest in integrating complementary and alternative approaches into the counseling process, including mindfulness and energy psychology tools and techniques. She has been an EFT (Emotional Freedom Techniques) practitioner since 2001, which led her to be trained in other healing modalities such as Reiki, The Reconnection and Reconnective Healing, Crystalline Conscious Technique and Multidimensional Healing. Dr. Thompson has presented locally, nationally and internationally at professional conferences on a variety of topics. She also created and facilitated teambuilding and communication programs to organizations such as Virginia Beach Psychiatric Center, United Way, NASA, The College of William and Mary’s Executive MBA Program and several departments at Eastern Virginia Medical School. |
Tina Curran-Taylor, LPC, ICADC, BC-TMH, NCC
Tina Curran-Taylor is a Licensed Professional Counselor, clinical supervisor and facilitator. She earned a master's degree in counseling from Webster University and has worked in a variety of counseling and teaching roles including Bryant & Stratton college, home based and jail services, in-patient acute care and private practice. Mrs. Curran-Taylor currently maintains a full schedule in her private practice, provides supervision for interns and residents and classes for individuals interested in learning more about managing life stressors. Most recently she has begun to collaborate with Dr. Suzan Thompson to provide classes to other professionals. Mrs. Curran-Taylor’s areas of interest include trauma and stress related disorders, PTSD and substance use disorders. Training in Reiki in the late 90’s opened Mrs. Curran-Taylor to the power of energy and alternative approaches to support one’s healing process. This paved the way for further training in Energy Psychology Techniques, Mindfulness approaches, EMDR, and Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT/Tapping) and the role of nutrition in mental health. For the last 6 years, Mrs. Curran-Taylor has participated extensively in training from master trainers in the personal and professional application of EFT/Tapping skills and is currently engaged in the certification process. |
